My family owned a real estate development business and having been involved in it from a young age, my father taught me the importance of hard work, fairness, and integrity when running a business. At 16, I fled to the US after going through an unfortunate and life changing incident. After earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, I worked at Boeing as an engineer supporting testing, manufacturing, and assembly of CH-47 Chinooks and V-22 Ospreys in Philadelphia. I then moved to Seattle to work on the 787 Dreamliner while finishing my master’s in engineering. After a year on the 787 program, I was selected to join a leadership development program that exposed me to the entire value chain of an airplane program. As a result, I was mentored by some of the most senior executives in the company.
